Encounter the living Word of God in the story of salvation history.

Learn how the past has shaped the present. See how our understanding of faith has grown.

The Bible Study programs that we offer are part of the Great Adventure series of Bible studies published by Ascension Press. The Great Adventure Bible study programs are designed to help you make sense of the Bible and experience the life-changing power of God’s Word. The Bible is made up of seventy-three books; forty-six in the Old Testament and twenty-seven in the New Testament. The Great Adventure series divides the Bible in 12 time periods and focuses on the fourteen books of the Bible that tell the story of salvation history. Once we know the story we can begin to understand how the other fifty-nine books, called supplemental books, fit into the story.

The first study in this series is Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible. This is an eight week study that gives an overview of the whole Bible by focusing on the fourteen narrative books. It is a great place to start for those who have never read the Bible or for those who want to grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

After this there is a foundation series of three studies which go in-depth through the story. There is The Bible Timeline, a twenty-four week study of the fourteen narrative books. This is followed by Matthew: the King and His Kingdom, a twenty-four week study on the Gospel of Matthew giving you a greater understanding of who Jesus is and what his mission is.  Finally, there is Acts: the Spread of the Kingdom, a twenty week study showing how the Apostles spread the message of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

In addition to the introductory studies in the foundational series there are also numerous studies on various books or themes in the Bible such as; Exodus, Revelation, Ephesians, the Prophets, Psalms, Galatians, First Corinthians, and more.

In addition to the Great Adventure series of Bible studies we also offer faith formation programs for people of all ages. There are programs on Church History where you can learn how the faith has been passed down through the ages from Jesus to the Apostles and their successors all the way to our own day. You can learn about how the Church has grown in her understanding of the teachings of Jesus and how men and women have devoted their lives to prayer and study to give us a greater knowledge of who Jesus is and why He came to dwell among us.

We also offer programs on the sacraments and prayer to help to deepen your relationship with God. Knowledge of God is important but knowledge alone is not sufficient. Our goal is to help people to encounter God in the depths of their hearts. To know that they are loved and cherished by the Creator of the universe. We want to enable people to have a relationship with God. In her wisdom the Church gives us the mass and the sacraments to help us encounter God and begin to develop a relationship with Him.

We have programs on Theology of the Body. The major teaching project that Pope St. John Paul II gave us as the foundation for the New Evangelization. The Theology of the Body is a lens which enables us to see ourselves the way God created us to be. It reveals to us the mystery of why God created us male and female and called the two to become one flesh. The Theology of the Body provides Catholics with a fresh and new perspective on human sexuality which will change the way we see ourselves, our bodies, and the Catholic Church.

There are study programs for mothers, for married couples, for children.

We are working together with parishes throughout the Diocese of London to offer Bible studies and faith formation programs. Please follow the links below to learn more about what studies are being offered and to register.

All our study programs run for a number of weeks and follow the same basic pattern.

There are four steps to each session:

Home Preparation - Each session begins with personal study that involves reading and answering some questions to help you understand and think more deeply about what you have read.

Small-Group Discussion - The small-group discussion is one of the most effective components of our study programs. During these discussions participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and reflections. The goal of the small-group discussion is to help participants obtain a richer understanding of the readings and apply them to their lives. Trained facilitators guide the small-group discussion and keep it on track.

Video Presentation - Each study features a video presentation from leading Catholic speakers and teachers. Through these video presentations these speakers offer unique insights and profound connections to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and the Catholic Faith. They also give tips on ways to apply what you are learning to your life.

Review - The final step is to review what we learned through the Home Preparation, Video Presentation, and Small-Group Discussion. Prior to beginning the reading for the next session we ask participants to reflect and pray about what they have learned.
